Lisa Stammeleer

Lisa Stammeleer was born in 1991 and raised in Zottegem. She obtained her veterinary degree in 2015 at Ghent University. After successfully completing the rotating 'internship' for small animals, she started her 'residency' (specialization training) in Internal Medicine Small Animals. Since the beginning of 2021 she succesfully completed the residency to become a diplomate Internal Medicine Small Animals (ECVIM).

Lisa can be found in her spare time on the beach or in the woods for long walks with her dog Sunny. She also likes sports and she likes to cook and try new things in the kitchen.

Lisa has a special interest in Endocrinology. She is particularly interested in hyperthyroidism in cats. In 2020 she started as a part-time PhD student under the supervision of Professor Sylvie Daminet. Her PhD aims to follow up the thyroid and renal function of hyperthyroid cats after radioactive iodine-131 treatment. The PhD was successfully completed in late 2022, and Lisa is focusing herself now on processing and writing down the results.
